Walk-in-Interview Details:
Government Medical College & Hospital, Chandigarh invites eligible candidates for a walk-in-interview for the posts of Senior Residents, Casualty Medical Officer (General Medicine), Resident Anaesthetist, and Junior Resident (MBBS).
Interview Dates:
- 31st July 2024: Senior Residents, Casualty Medical Officer (General Medicine), Resident Anaesthetist
- 1st August 2024: Senior Residents (various departments), Junior Resident (MBBS)

Important Information:
Application Submission:
- Applications will be received up to 10:00 AM on the interview day.
- Interviews will be held at 12:00 Noon on the same day.
Application Process:
- Interested candidates can apply using the prescribed application form available on the GMCH website.
- Submit the filled application form in the Establishment Branch-II, Block-D, GMCH-32, Chandigarh along with the requisite application fee and testimonials by 10:00 AM on the interview day.
Application Fee:
- Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC candidates) through Demand Draft drawn in favor of Director Principal, GMCH, Chandigarh, payable at Chandigarh.
- Only one application fee is required for multiple posts/departments.
Required Documents:
- Photocopies of relevant certificates/testimonials.
- Recent passport size photograph.
- Original certificates/testimonials for verification.
Terms and Conditions:
- The posts are tenure posts for a period of 6 months or until regular incumbents join through regular selections.
- In case of higher number of candidates for Senior Resident in Dentistry, an MCQ test will be conducted.
- Number of vacancies may increase or decrease.
- Candidates already in Government service must apply through proper channel with a NOC from the present employer.
- Incomplete applications or applications without requisite documents will be rejected.
Pay and Allowances:
- Senior Residents, CMO (General Medicine), Resident Anaesthetist: Rs. 67,700/- (Level-11) + NPA @ 20% as per Central Government Services (R. Pay) Rules 2016.
- Junior Resident: Rs. 56100/- (Level-10 of 7th CPC) + other allowances.
Upper Age Limit (as on 01.01.2024):
- Senior Residents, CMO (General Medicine) & Resident Anaesthetist: 45 years (relaxation for OBC, SC, Govt. servants, and widows/deserted women as per rules).
- Junior Resident: 30 years (relaxation for OBC and SC candidates as per rules).
Essential Qualifications:
- Senior Resident, CMO & Resident Anaesthetist: Postgraduate Medical Degree (MD/MS/DM/MCh/DNB) or equivalent in the concerned specialty, recognized by MCI and registered with Medical Council of India or State Medical Council. Postgraduate diploma holders may be considered if no PG degree holders are available.
- Junior Resident (MBBS): MBBS, registered with State Medical Council/MCI, completed or likely to complete one year rotary internship by 30.06.2024. Candidates who have already completed one year Junior Residency are not eligible.
