Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan has announced the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for 2024, which is an essential qualification for anyone aiming to teach in the state’s lower primary, upper primary, and high school classes. Application Procedure:
Applications must be submitted online through the official Kerala TET portal. The application portal opened on April 17, 2024, and will close on May 2, 2024. There will be a brief period for application corrections from May 4, 2024, to May 7, 2024.
Application Fees:
- General Category: Rs. 500/-
- SC/ST/Differently Abled Candidates: Rs. 250/-
- Payment Mode: Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card
Qualifications Required:
- Paper/Category I – Lower Primary Classes (Class 1-5):
- Minimum 45% in 12th/10+2 or equivalent.
- Higher Secondary with at least 50% marks plus a 2-year Diploma in Education or a 4-year B.El.Ed.
- Paper/Category II – Upper Primary Classes (Class 6-8):
- Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or a 4-year B.El.Ed.
- Higher Secondary with 50% marks and a B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
- Paper/Category III – High School Classes (Class 9-12):
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and a B.Ed or an MSc.Ed in the relevant subject.
- Paper/Category IV – Language Teachers:
- Certification appropriate for Language Teachers, Specialist Teachers, and Physical Education Teachers.
