Description:
The RRB Railway Protection Force (RPF) has announced a recruitment notification (RPF 01/2024) on 14/04/2024 for the post of Sub Inspector (SI). Selection Procedure
Recruitment Process:
Candidates should apply exclusively online through any official RRB websites. Multiple applications will result in rejection and debarment. The recruitment process consists of the following stages:
- Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
- Document Verification (DV)
Examination schedules and venues will be communicated to eligible candidates via RRB websites, SMS, and email. Requests for changes in venue, date, or shift will not be entertained.
Computer Based Test (CBT):
The CBT will be of graduation level, comprising 120 questions to be completed in 90 minutes. Each correct answer awards 1 mark, with a ⅓ mark deduction for wrong answers. Marks will be normalized for exams held in multiple shifts. Minimum pass percentages are 35% for UR, EWS, and OBC-NCL, and 30% for SC & ST.
Syllabus for CBT:
- Arithmetic (35 marks): Number System, Percentages, Ratio & Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit & Loss, Time & Distance, etc.
- General Intelligence and Reasoning (35 marks): Analogies, Spatial Visualization, Problem Solving, Decision Making, Arithmetic number series, etc.
- General Awareness (50 marks): Current events, Indian History, Geography, Polity, Constitution, Sports, General Science, etc.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT):
Candidates shortlisted from the CBT will undergo PET, PMT, and Document Verification (DV). Ex-servicemen are exempt from PET but must undergo PMT.
Criteria for PET:
- Sub-Inspector (Exe) Male: 1600 meters run in 6 min 30 secs, 12 ft long jump, 3 ft 9 inch high jump
- Sub-Inspector (Exe) Female: 800 meters run in 4 min, 9 ft long jump, 3 ft high jump
Criteria for PMT:
- Height (in CMs):
- Male: UR/EWS/OBC - 165, SC/ST - 160
- Female: UR/EWS/OBC - 157, SC/ST - 152
- Chest (in CMs) (Only for Male):
- Unexpanded: UR/EWS/OBC - 80, SC/ST - 76.2
- Expanded: UR/EWS/OBC - 85, SC/ST - 81.2
