Introduction:
Punjab Police invites online applications from Indian citizens for direct recruitment to fill vacancies for the post of Police Constable in the District and Armed Cadre. This recruitment process is designed to select candidates through a Common Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Screening Test (PST), Physical Measurement Test (PMT), and document scrutiny based strictly on merit.

Vacancies:
- Total tentative vacancies for Constables:
- District Police Cadre: 970 (317 reserved for women)
- Armed Police Cadre: 776 (253 reserved for women)
- Categories include General, SC, BC, EWS, Ex-Serviceman, and more with specific reservations for women and other categories as per government norms.
Eligibility:
- Age Limit: 18 to 28 years as on 1st January 2024, with relaxations applicable as per government norms.
- Educational Qualification: 10+2 or its equivalent; Matriculation with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects, or any equivalent examination in Punjabi language.
- Physical Standards: Minimum height requirement is 5′7″ for male and 5′2″ for female candidates.
Selection Process:
- Stage-I: Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of two papers; Paper-I for assessment and Paper-II (Punjabi language) qualifying in nature.
- Stage-II: Physical Screening Test (PST) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT), both qualifying in nature.
- Stage-III: Document Scrutiny.

- Ex-Servicemen of Punjab State only/Lineal Descendants of ESM: Rs. 500
- SC/ST of all States and Backward Classes of Punjab State only, EWS: Rs. 650
