Job Opportunity at Prasar Bharati, India’s Public Service Broadcaster
Prasar Bharati, the apex public service broadcaster of India, invites dynamic and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Copy Editor on a contractual basis. This position is based in Chandigarh, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the esteemed networks of Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) and Akashvani.
Position: Copy Editor
- Number of Positions: 2 (Both positions are for DDK, Chandigarh)
- Location: Chandigarh, DDK
- Contract Duration: 1 Year
- Remuneration: INR 35,000/- per month (Fixed)
- Age Limit: Below 35 years as of the date of notification
Qualifications and Experience:
A graduation degree in any field from a recognized university/institute with at least 5 years of experience in mainstream media.
OR
A Degree/PG Diploma in Journalism/Mass Communication or a relevant field from a recognized university/institute with a minimum of 3 years of experience in mainstream media.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in Hindi and English is required. Knowledge of Punjabi is desirable.
Desirable Skills:
- Hands-on knowledge of search engines and social media platforms.
- Good understanding of regional, national issues, and current affairs.
- Ability to coordinate with different verticals of the media unit deployed in.
Nature of Duties:
- Editorial coordination from the regional centre or with stringers.
- Overseeing feeds in regional centers.
- Prioritizing news stories and adding metadata to all stories.
- Tagging Video/Photo/Graphics with all story inputs.
- Converting video/audio to text using technology and ensuring quality checks.
- Translation tasks, if required.
- Timely feeding of information on the shared feed platform.
Terms and Conditions:
- The engagement is on a full-time contractual basis, without any claim for absorption or regularization in Prasar Bharati.
- The contract period is initially for one year, extendable based on organizational requirements and performance.
- Engagement can be terminated by either party with one-month notice or salary in lieu thereof.
- Contractual employees cannot take up any other assignment during the period of their engagement with Prasar Bharati.
- Additional tasks may be assigned apart from the specified duties.
