Location: Assam
Qualification: Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and have a specified number of years of regular practice as an Advocate, varying for each position:
- Public Prosecutor: Minimum of 8 years, including practice before the High Court on the criminal side.
- Additional Public Prosecutor: Minimum of 7 years, including practice before High Court on the criminal side.
- Assistant Public Prosecutor: Minimum of 3 years, including practice before High Court on the criminal side.
Age Limit: 21-45 years as of 1st January 2024. Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules.
Pay Scale:
- Public Prosecutor: Rs. 65,000-1,12,000 + Grade Pay Rs. 18,500 + 30% Special Allowance
- Additional Public Prosecutor: Rs. 30,000-1,10,000 + Grade Pay Rs. 17,500 + 30% Special Allowance
- Assistant Public Prosecutor: Rs. 30,000-1,10,000 + Grade Pay Rs. 16,900 + 30% Special Allowance

- SC/ST/OBC/MOBC: ₹200
- BPL: ₹50
Application Procedure: Applications need to be submitted offline. Typed applications in the format provided on the Home and Political Department’s website, along with all necessary documents, should be sent to the Secretary to the Government of Assam, Home & Political Department, Dispur, Guwahati.
