Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

Bachelors or Masters Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognized university.

Age Limit:

Minimum Age: 21 years
Maximum Age: 30 years (for general candidates) / 40 years (for local residents of Chhattisgarh) as on 01.01.2026
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) of CG: 5 years
- Local women residents of CG: 10 years
- Permanent/Temporary employees of CG Government: 5 years
- Maximum age limit with all relaxations: 45 years

Selection Process

The selection process consists of the following stages:

Preliminary Examination: 100 objective type MCQ questions (100 marks, 2 hours) covering Library Science, English, Hindi, Mathematics, Computer, Reasoning, and General Knowledge (including Chhattisgarh GK).
Main Examination: Written descriptive paper on Library Science subjects (100 marks, 3 hours).
Viva-Voce Interview: Maximum 15 marks.
Final Selection: Based on the combined merit of the Main Written Examination and Viva-voce.
