Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
Medical Candidates: A medical qualification under Schedule I, II, or Part II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, along with MD/MS or equivalent. For surgical super-specialties, M.Ch. is required; for medical super-specialties, D.M. is required.
Non-Medical Candidates: Master’s degree + Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) from a recognized university.
Hospital Administration: Medical qualification under the Indian Medical Council Act along with MD in Hospital Administration or MHA from an MCI recognized institution.
Experience Requirements:
- Professor: 14 years after MD/MS, or 12 years after D.M./M.Ch., or 11 years after a 3-year D.M./M.Ch. (Non-medical: 14 years post-doctorate).
- Additional Professor: 10 years after MD/MS, or 8 years after D.M./M.Ch., or 7 years after a 3-year D.M./M.Ch. (Non-medical: 10 years post-doctorate).
- Associate Professor: 6 years after MD/MS, or 4 years after D.M./M.Ch., or 3 years after a 3-year D.M./M.Ch. (Non-medical: 6 years post-doctorate).
- Assistant Professor: 3 years after MD/MS, or 1 year after D.M./M.Ch. (Non-medical: 3 years post-doctorate).
