The Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) has released a notification for 80 Junior Research Fellowships (JRF). Candidates who have registered for Ph.D. programs in historical studies at recognized universities are eligible to apply. The last date to apply online is April 10, 2026.

- Must have registered for Ph.D. Programme in Historical Studies (Ancient, Medieval, or Modern India) at a recognized university.

Application Fee
Salary / Pay Scale
Fellowship Amount: ₹17,600/- per month
Contingency Grant: ₹16,500/- per annum for a period of Two years (extendable up to one more year without financial commitment under special circumstances)
Selection Process
Stage-I: Online Entrance Test (100 Marks - 100 objective questions, no negative marking)
Stage-II: Presentation-cum-Interview (60 Marks)
Final Merit: 100 (Stage-I) + 60 (Stage-II) = 160 Marks
