Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) including Integrated Law Courses from any institution recognized by the Bar Council of India
Candidates currently studying:
- 5th year of 5-Year Integrated Law Course, or
- 3rd year of 3-Year Law Course
  are also eligible, provided they acquire the degree before joining

Essential Skills

Strong legal research and analytical skills
Good writing and drafting ability
Working knowledge of legal research platforms such as:
- e-SCR
- SCC Online
- Manupatra
- LexisNexis
- Westlaw

Selection Process

Part-I: Objective Test (MCQs)

Tests legal aptitude, comprehension, and application of law
Conducted in online mode
Minimum Qualifying Marks: 60%
Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer

Part-II: Subjective Written Test

Tests writing and analytical skills
Questions visible on computer screen
Answers to be written in pen-paper mode

Part-III: Interview

Candidates qualifying Part-I and Part-II will be called
Interview ratio: 1:3 against tentative vacancies
If large numbers qualify Part-I, Part-II answer sheets will be evaluated in 1:10 ratio

Full-time contractual assignment
No claim for permanent or regular appointment
Engagement can be terminated by the Registry with prescribed notice
Law Clerks:
- Cannot accept any other assignment
- Cannot practice as an Advocate during the tenure
Work may involve odd hours, holidays, and exigencies
Posting may be in:
- Registry
- Courtrooms
- Judges’ Chambers
- Residential Office of Hon’ble CJI / Judges

Scribe facility available as per Annexure-I / Annexure-IA
Scribe must not be a law graduate
Scribe qualification must be one level below the candidate
Supporting documents must be produced during examination and verification
