Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Sector-12, Chandigarh invites applications for Walk-in Interview for engagement of project staff under a Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India–funded research project titled:
“Advanced Machine Learning-Based Anomaly and Fraud Detection System for Next-Generation Telecom Networks”
The engagement is purely temporary and project-based, initially for a period of three (03) years or till completion of the project, whichever is earlier.

1. Research Associate – I (RA-I)
Number of Posts: 01
Monthly Emoluments: ₹56,000 (inclusive of HRA @ 18%)
Essential Qualification
Candidates must possess either of the following:
• Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering or a closely related discipline
OR
• M.E./M.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering / Information Technology / equivalent discipline
with a minimum of three (03) years of relevant experience in research and/or software development
Desirable Skills & Experience
• Strong foundation in Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL), including supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning
• Hands-on experience with AI frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow and PyTorch
• Experience using Transformers for NLP tasks
• Proficiency in data preprocessing, feature engineering, dimensionality reduction, and time-series analysis
• Experience in developing and deploying models for anomaly detection, predictive analytics, and forecasting
• Familiarity with scientific computing and visualization tools such as NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and Seaborn
• Ability to work with large-scale and unstructured datasets (text, audio, IoT data)
• Strong programming skills in Python (preferred) and/or R with good coding and documentation practices
• Exposure to real-world applications such as cyber fraud detection will be an added advantage

Essential Qualification
• High School (Matriculation) pass or equivalent
Experience
• Minimum 02 years of experience in operational or routine office work (preferred)
Desirable Skills

• Attention to detail
• Ability to multitask
• Willingness to take responsibility for routine operational and support tasks
