Job Description:
The Income Tax Department is seeking to engage a Young Professional to assist in preparing and managing tax litigation cases for the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT). The selected candidate will be attached to the office of CsIT (DR) or Sr. DR in the ITAT. The responsibilities will include:
- Studying paper books of listed cases.
- Analyzing judgements relied upon by the assessee.
- Identifying relevant judgements in favor of the department.
- Preparing briefing notes and written submissions.
- Conducting research/study on specific points as assigned by CIT (DR)/Sr. DR.

Eligibility Criteria:
Essential Qualifications:
- Indian Nationals with a Graduate/Post Graduate degree in Law from recognized universities, colleges, or institutions of national or international repute, or a qualified Chartered Accountant.
- Minimum of 50% marks in the 3-year LLB or 5-year integrated LLB program or Post Graduate degree program.
- Alternatively, Chartered Accountants with relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Chartered Accountants who have completed their articleship in taxation.
Law graduates/post graduates with research experience in taxation.
Candidates with good skills in information and communication technology (ICT) and strong communication and interpersonal skills will be preferred.

Selection Process:
The selection process will consist of two stages:
- Screening - Based on eligibility criteria and academic qualifications.
- Interview - Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview.
Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email or speed post. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
