SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2026 – 25,487 Vacancies – Apply Online (01 Dec–31 Dec 2025)
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the Constable (General Duty) recruitment in CAPFs, SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles for the year 2026. The total number of vacancies is 25,487 for male and female candidates across India. Applications are to be submitted online only.
This recruitment includes vacancies in BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, SSF, and Assam Rifles.
Application window is open from 01 December 2025 to 31 December 2025 (23:00 hrs).

Total Vacancies: 25,487 (23,467 male + 2,020 female)

10% of posts are reserved for Ex-Servicemen.
For CAPFs (except SSF), vacancies are allotted State/UT-wise, so candidates must possess the domicile certificate of the state they select.

Pay Level-3: ₹21,700 – ₹69,100 (Central Government Pay Matrix)

Age Limit
As on 01 January 2026:
Minimum: 18 years
Maximum: 23 years
Born between 02-01-2003 and 01-01-2008 (both dates inclusive).
Age relaxations:
SC/ST: +5 years
OBC: +3 years
Ex-Servicemen: as per rules
Children/Dependents of 1984 riot victims: +5 to +10 years

Educational Qualification
Candidate must have passed Matriculation / Class 10 from a recognized Board on or before 01-01-2026.

Selection Process
Selection includes the following stages:
- Computer Based Examination (CBE)

Computer Based Examination (CBE)
Objective type paper with 80 questions (160 marks):
• General Intelligence & Reasoning – 20 questions (40 marks)
• General Knowledge & General Awareness – 20 questions (40 marks)
• Elementary Mathematics – 20 questions (40 marks)
• English/Hindi – 20 questions (40 marks)
Time: 60 minutes
Negative marking: 0.25 mark per wrong answer
Exam available in English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages.
Minimum qualifying marks:
UR 30%, OBC/EWS 25%, others 20%.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Male:
• 5 km run in 24 minutes (for all except Ladakh)
• 1.6 km in 7 minutes (Ladakh region)
Female:
• 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes (others)
• 800 meters in 5 minutes (Ladakh)

Physical Standard Test (PST)
Height:
• Male: 170 cm
• Female: 157 cm
Chest (Male):
• Unexpanded: 80 cm
• Expansion: +5 cm
Relaxation in height and chest available for ST, NE states, Gorkhas, Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Dogras, Marathas, J&K, Ladakh, etc.

Medical Examination
Medical boards of CAPFs will examine:
• Eyesight
• Hearing
• General health
• Physical deformities
• Tattoos (as per CAPF policy)
Detailed document verification will also take place during DME.

Steps:
- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website
- Fill online application
- Upload real-time photo and signature (as per instructions)
- Pay fee online
- Submit form and download a copy
Important: Photo is captured live using device camera; pre-existing photos are not allowed unless Aadhaar-based authentication is used.

Final merit is prepared based on:
• Normalized CBE marks
• NCC bonus marks (if applicable)

• Candidates must possess the domicile certificate of the State/UT they apply under.
• Vacancies are tentative and may change.
• Admit cards for CBE will be issued on SSC website; PET/DME admit cards will be issued on CRPF website.
