Overview
The Dean Student Welfare Office, Panjab University, Chandigarh invites applications from eligible candidates for the following temporary positions on part-time basis:
- Part-Time Counsellor / Advisor – to provide counselling and guidance to university students.
- Part-Time Wi-Fi Assistants – to assist in maintenance and repair of Wi-Fi networks in hostels.
These posts are purely temporary for one year, extendable based on performance and university requirements.

1. Post: Part-Time Counsellor / Advisor
Remuneration: ₹20,000 per month (Honorarium basis)
Nature of Work: Counselling and psychological guidance to university students on academic and personal matters.
Duration: One year (extendable as per requirement)
Essential Qualification:
- Post-Graduation in Psychology with at least 55% marks, with Counselling as an optional subject in post-graduation.
Desirable Qualification:
- P.G. Diploma in Clinical Psychology
OR
P.G. Diploma in Guidance & Counselling
Experience (Preferred):
- Candidates having relevant experience in Clinical Psychology will be given preference.
Interview Details:
- Date & Time: To be decided by the selection committee (updates will be shared on the hostel website).
- Venue: Office of the Dean Student Welfare, 1st Floor, Student Centre Building, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
- Candidates must bring original certificates at the time of the interview.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

2. Post: Part-Time Wi-Fi Assistant
Remuneration: ₹7,000 per month (or as per PU rules for regular employees)
Duration: One year (extendable as per performance and requirement)
Budget Head: “Common Budget Provision for Maintenance of Internet Services at Hostels”
Essential Qualification:
- Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.
Desirable Qualification:
- Minimum one-year diploma in Hardware & Networking in Computers.
- Should possess good practical knowledge to repair Wi-Fi switches, wires, and network connections.
Note for PU Regular Employees:
- Remuneration and working conditions will be governed as per Panjab University rules.

Selection Process (Both Posts)
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview at the DSW Office.
- Selection will be made purely on the basis of qualification, experience, and performance in the interview.
- Engagement will be temporary and does not confer any right to permanent employment.
