BSF Head Constable (RO/RM) Recruitment 2025 – 1121 Vacancies
The Border Security Force (BSF) has released a notification inviting online applications for the recruitment of Head Constable (Radio Operator / Radio Mechanic). A total of 1121 vacancies are available for eligible male and female candidates across India.
Total Vacancies
- Head Constable (Radio Operator – RO): 910 Posts
- Head Constable (Radio Mechanic – RM): 211 Posts
Important Dates
- Online Application Start Date: 24 August 2025
- Online Application Closing Date: 23 September 2025
Candidates must apply online only through the BSF recruitment portal within the stipulated dates.
Application Fees
- UR / OBC / EWS (Male candidates): ₹100/- per post
- SC / ST / BSF Departmental Candidates / Ex-Servicemen / Compassionate Appointment Candidates / All Female Candidates: No Examination Fee
- Service Charge: ₹59/- (₹50 + GST/Taxes) applicable to all candidates when applying through CSC

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
For Head Constable (RO):
- 12th / Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
OR
- 10th or equivalent and 2 years ITI in relevant trades such as Radio & Television, Electronics Engineering, Computer Operator & Programming Assistant, etc.
For Head Constable (RM):
12th / Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
OR
10th or equivalent and 2 years ITI in relevant trades such as Radio & Television, General Electronics, Computer Operator & Programming Assistant, etc.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 25 years (as on the closing date of online application)
- Upper age relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC and other categories as per Government rules.
Pay Scale
Both RO and RM posts carry a pay scale of ₹25,500 – ₹81,100 (Level-4, 7th CPC) along with allowances admissible to BSF personnel.
Selection Process
The selection procedure includes:
- Written Examination (Objective type, CBT)
- Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Documentation & Medical Examination
- Final Merit List
