The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released the Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 02/2025 for the recruitment of Technician Grade-I Signal (Pay Level 5) and Technician Grade-III (Pay Level 2) posts across all zones. This is a major opportunity for ITI, Diploma, and Degree holders in Science/Engineering to join the prestigious Indian Railways.

📚 Eligibility Criteria

📌 Age Limit (as on 01 July 2025):

Technician Grade-I Signal: 18 to 33 years
Technician Grade-III: 18 to 30 years
Age relaxation for reserved categories as per rules:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC (NCL): 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years (additional relaxation for SC/ST/OBC)
- Ex-Servicemen, Railway Staff, Widows/Divorced Women, and others – see Para 5 of the notification

📌 Educational Qualifications:

Technician Grade-I Signal (Pay Level 5):
- B.Sc. in Physics / Electronics / Computer Science / Information Technology / Instrumentation
  OR
- Three-year Diploma in Engineering in the above disciplines
  OR
- Degree in Engineering in the above disciplines
  (Note: Candidates with higher qualifications are also eligible)
Technician Grade-III (Pay Level 2):
- Matriculation / SSLC + ITI in relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT
  OR
- Matriculation / SSLC + Completed Apprenticeship in relevant trade

✅ Reservation & Relaxation

EWS (Economically Weaker Sections): 8%
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 27%
SC: 15%
ST: 7.5%
PwBD, ExSM, Women, Minorities, and EBC have horizontal reservation and various concessions
Income/EWS/Category/PwBD certificates must be in prescribed formats (Annexure I, II, III, etc.)

🧪 Selection Process

Computer Based Test (CBT)
- 100 Objective-type questions
- Duration: 90 minutes
- Negative marking: ⅓ mark deducted per wrong answer
- Separate CBT for Pay Level 5 and Pay Level 2 posts
Document Verification (DV)
- Original documents to be verified. Failing to produce will lead to disqualification.
Medical Examination
- Must pass the required medical standards (A3, B1, B2, etc.)

🧮 Application Fees

General / UR: ₹500 (₹400 refundable after appearing in CBT)
SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD/ExSM/Women/Transgender: ₹250 (fully refundable after CBT)
Payment Mode: Online only (Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI)

Visit the official website of any RRB (e.g., www.rrbcdg.gov.in)
Register using Aadhaar/DigiLocker-based authentication
Fill application form for only one RRB per Pay Level
Upload required documents, recent photo (not older than 3 months), and signature
Pay fee and submit before 28 July 2025
Modification window will be open from 01 to 10 August 2025 with a fee of ₹250 per change

♿ PwBD & Scribe Facility

Candidates eligible for a scribe must declare during application and register their scribe on https://rrbapply.gov.in between 11–15 August 2025
20 minutes per hour compensatory time is allowed for PwBD using scribe
Scribe cannot be a Railway employee or aspiring candidate

🛫 Free Travel Pass (SC/ST Candidates)

Eligible candidates can download e-call letter with travel authority
Carry original caste certificate for travel
