📢 Overview

CSIR-CSIO invites online applications for temporary positions under a sponsored R\&D project. The recruitment is for a Project Associate (PAT-I / PAT-II) under the CSIR Fast-Track Mission Mode Project titled “Fuel Cell E-Tractor: Development of Drive Train.”
The engagement will be on a purely temporary and contractual basis, co-terminus with the project, and the selected candidates may be posted anywhere across India depending on project requirements.

📌 Position Details

Project Title: Fuel Cell E-Tractor – Development of Drive Train
Position Name: Project Associate (PAT-I / PAT-II)
Vacancy: 01 (One)
Tenure: Up to 31st March 2026
Location: CSIR-CSIO Chandigarh (with travel to CSIR labs across India)

💰 Emoluments

PAT-II: ₹28,000 + HRA per month
PAT-I: ₹25,000 + HRA per month
(Selection between PAT-I and PAT-II depends on qualification and experience)

🎓 Essential Qualifications

For PAT-II

B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical / Electronics & Communication / Instrumentation / Computer Science Engineering
OR
M.Sc. in Electronics / Physics / Informatics or equivalent
AND 2 years of relevant R\&D experience in industrial/academic/research institutions.

Desirable Skills:

Programming in Python, C, C++
Knowledge of IoT, Machine Learning, Deep Learning

For PAT-I

B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics / Mechatronics / Electrical / Computer Science / IT or equivalent

Desirable Skills:

Hands-on experience in Python programming, Linux OS
Experience in ML/DL, PCB design, system interfacing, data acquisition, hardware debugging
Experience in experimental setup and field deployments

Maximum 35 years as on the last date of application (Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women, 3 years for OBC)

Experience will be counted after acquiring essential qualification
Candidates with results awaited are not eligible
Prior experience in CSIR labs exceeding 6/7 years makes a candidate ineligible
Selected candidates must deposit 15 days’ stipend as refundable security
Selected candidates must join within 15 days of offer issuance
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview
Waitlist will be maintained and valid for 1 year
