🧪 DRDO RAC Scientist B Recruitment 2025 – 152 Vacancies
Department
The recruitment is conducted by the Recruitment & Assessment Centre (RAC) of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). This is a Group ‘A’ Gazetted Technical Service post.
Number of Vacancies
There are 152 total vacancies, distributed across DRDO, ADA (Aeronautical Development Agency), and other R\&D organizations under encadred posts.
- Scientist B in DRDO: 127 vacancies
- Scientist/Engineer B in ADA: 9 vacancies
- Scientist B (Encadred Posts): 16 vacancies
Notification and Application Dates
- The official notification (Advt. No. 156) was published on 20 May 2025.
- The last date to submit the online application is 04 July 2025.
Application Fees
Candidates belonging to the General (UR), EWS, and OBC (male) categories must pay a fee of ₹100.
Women, SC, ST, and Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) are exempted from paying any application fee.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology (B.E. / B.Tech) in the relevant discipline.
In some cases, a Master’s Degree in Engineering or Science in the respective subject is also acceptable.
A valid GATE score in 2023, 2024, or 2025 is mandatory for all applicants.

Age Limit (as on 04 July 2025)
The maximum age for General (UR) and EWS candidates is 35 years.
For OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates, the upper age limit is 38 years, and for SC/ST candidates, it is 40 years.
Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules for PwD, Central Govt. employees, and ex-servicemen.
Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be appointed at Level 10 (₹56,100/-) in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
In addition to basic pay, candidates will be entitled to house rent allowance, transport allowance, DA, and other benefits as per government norms.
Selection Process
The selection process includes the following steps:
- Shortlisting based on GATE Score
- Personal Interview
- Document Verification
The final selection will be based on a weighted average of:
- GATE Score: 80% weightage
- Interview Performance: 20% weightage
Only candidates shortlisted on the basis of valid GATE scores will be called for the interview.
