π‘ Essential Requirements for Direct Recruitment
For Both Anganwadi Worker (AWW) and Anganwadi Helper (AWH):
Educational Qualification: Minimum 10+2 (Senior Secondary) pass
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years, Maximum 35 years
Relaxation:
OBC: 3 years
SC: 5 years
Residence:
Female candidate from local village/community where the Anganwadi Centre is situated
Local area includes 3β5 km radius
If no suitable candidate is found in the local area, applications may be invited from within the SDM zone.

π Acceptable Proof of Residence
- Aadhaar Card
- Voter ID (issued by Electoral Registration Officer)
- Other valid government proofs (Electricity bill, Water bill, etc.)
Special Note:
- Newly married women must submit husbandβs residence proof + marriage certificate and update own Aadhaar within 2 months of joining.
- Candidates without valid Aadhaar must update their Aadhaar to the address of local area within 2 months of joining.

Required Documents:
- SC/OBC/Disability certificate issued by a competent authority
- Disability certificate must mention candidate is physically and medically fit to perform Anganwadi duties (issued by Civil Surgeon)

π§ Retirement Policy
- For AWWs and AWHs recruited after 1st January 2025, retirement age is 60 years
- For those recruited before 1st January 2025, retirement age remains 65 years
- Uniform retirement date: 30th April every year

π Criteria for Direct Recruitment
- Minimum education: 12th pass (for both posts)
- Selection through interaction (interview) with the committee
- CDPOs and Area Supervisors will publish vacancy lists on https://chdsw.gov.in and circulate locally
- CDPOs are responsible for the entire recruitment process

π§Ύ Merit Criteria for Promotion of AWH to AWW
To be eligible:
- 12th pass
- Minimum 5 years of satisfactory service
- Promotion will be from finalized seniority-cum-merit list
Merit Marking System:
Experience:
- 1 mark for every 2 years of service beyond 5 years (max 10 marks)
12th Qualification:
Graduation in Home Science, Nutrition, Child Development, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, etc.:

π Promotion Process Guidelines
- Tentative seniority-cum-eligibility list is finalized every year in September
- List remains valid for 1 year
- Objections can be raised within 15 days of tentative list
- Final list prepared after resolving objections
- CDPOs will fill AWW posts based on this final list

ποΈ Leave Rules
AWWs and AWHs entitled to 12 days leave/year
Leave beyond this is without honorarium
Maximum 3 days leave can be approved by CDPO/Supervisor
Leave beyond 3 days must be approved by Director with valid justification and documents such as:
Leave record is maintained by supervisor
If leave rules are violated, the post may be declared vacant after two warnings

π§ Roles & Responsibilities
πΈ Anganwadi Worker (AWW)
- Community engagement and support for Poshan 2.0
- Data feeding in Poshan Tracker App
- Monthly weighing of children, maintain growth charts
- Conduct household surveys and preschool activities
- Organize supplementary nutrition for children and mothers
- Provide health/nutrition education to mothers
- Help register births
- Undertake home visits
- Maintain records and coordinate with PHC/ANM
- Assist in immunization, health checkups, Vitamin A, IFA distribution
- Identify and report special needs children
- Act as depot holder for contraceptives, RCH kits
- Assist in Polio and Adolescent Health programs
- Maintain COVID-19 protocols
- Handle any other duties as assigned
πΉ Anganwadi Helper (AWH)
- Serve food and maintain cleanliness of center and children
- Bring children to Anganwadi center
- Assist AWW in all duties
- Take over AWWβs duties during her absence
- Perform any task assigned by senior staff
