🔍 About the Opportunity

CSIR-CSIO invites online applications from eligible candidates for temporary project-based positions under sponsored R\&D projects. These are contractual positions, co-terminus with the project, with the possibility of future engagement based on performance and requirements. A waitlist panel will also be prepared for upcoming vacancies.

🧪 Available Positions

1. Project Associate (PAT) – Mechanical

Number of Posts: 2
Essential Qualification:
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university.
- For PAT-II: Minimum 2 years’ experience in R\&D in academic/industrial institutions or S\&T organizations.
Desirable Skills: Mechanical Design, Analysis, Testing.
Upper Age Limit: 35 years (as on last date; relaxable for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/women).
Remuneration:
- ₹35,000 + HRA for NET/GATE-qualified candidates or those through a national level exam.
- ₹28,000 + HRA for others (PAT-II).
- ₹31,000 + HRA for NET/GATE-qualified (PAT-I), ₹25,000 + HRA otherwise.
Project Tenure: Up to 31 March 2027 (for some posts), up to September 2026 (for others).

2. Project Associate (PAT) – Electronics

Number of Posts: 2
Essential Qualification:
- B.E./B.Tech in Electronics or equivalent from a recognized university.
- For PAT-II: Minimum 2 years’ R\&D experience required.
Desirable Skills: Electronics Design, Analysis, Testing.
Upper Age Limit: 35 years
Remuneration: Same as above based on qualification and experience.

3. Project Assistant – Mechanical

Number of Posts: 1
Essential Qualification:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Desirable Skills: Mechanical Design, Fabrication, Fieldwork Testing.
Upper Age Limit: 35 years
Remuneration: ₹20,000 + HRA

🗓️ Important Dates (Tentative)

Last Date to Apply: 12 May 2025 (till 11:59:59 PM)
Shortlist Display Date: Within 3–5 days after last date
Interview Date: 3–5 days after shortlist display
Final Result Declaration: 3–5 days after interviews
Offer of Engagement: 3–5 days after result (with 15 days joining time)

⚠️ Notes & Conditions

These are temporary roles under funded projects and do not confer any right for regular CSIR-CSIO appointment.
Experience will be counted only after acquiring the minimum educational qualification.
A refundable security deposit equal to 15 days’ stipend must be submitted at the time of joining.
Candidates with more than 6–7 years of prior engagement in CSIR projects are not eligible.
Accommodation and mess facilities may be provided subject to availability.
Reservation rules apply as per Government of India norms.
No TA/DA will be paid for interviews.
