Eligibility Criteria (For All Subjects)
Essential Qualification (Either A or B):
A.
- Master’s degree in the concerned/relevant/allied subject with minimum 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
- NET/SLET/SET qualification OR Ph.D. in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009/2016 with following conditions:
- Ph.D. awarded in regular mode
- Thesis evaluated by at least two external examiners
- Open viva voce conducted
- At least 2 research papers published (1 in refereed journal)
- At least 2 papers presented in conferences/seminars
B.
- Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked among the top 500 globally (QS, THE, ARWU).
Note: NET/SLET/SET not required if subject is not covered under these exams by UGC/CSIR.
Relaxation in Qualifications:
- 5% relaxation for SC/ST/PwD in qualifying marks
- 5% relaxation for Ph.D. holders who completed Master’s before 19 Sept 1991
- CGPA equivalence accepted if university provides conversion formula

- Take 9 printouts of the completed form
- Attach one set of self-attested supporting documents with each printout:
- Educational qualification certificates
- Experience certificates (in prescribed format)
- Research/publications with proof (first/relevant page with ISSN/ISBN)
- Category certificate (if applicable)
- NOC from employer (if applicable)
- Merit certificates (if mentioned in application)

Selection Process
- Academic score as per Appendix II (Table 3B) used for shortlisting
- Final selection based only on performance in interview
- No Skype/online interviews will be conducted

Terms and Conditions
- These are centrally managed posts. Posting location will be decided by University.
- Posting is transferable within PU Constituent Colleges.
- Assistant Professors cannot be transferred to PU main campus or regional centres.
- Canvassing in any form will disqualify candidature.
- Panjab University reserves the right to:
- Modify or withdraw advertised posts
- Cancel recruitment without notice
- Fix minimum eligibility cutoff
