The Society for Centralized Recruitment of Staff in Subordinate Courts (S.S.S.C.), under the High Court of Punjab and Haryana, on behalf of the District and Sessions Judges of the State of Punjab, invites online applications from eligible candidates for the recruitment of 478 posts of Stenographer Grade-III in the Subordinate Courts of Punjab.
The online application link will be available on the official website www.sssc.gov.in. Applications will be accepted from 26th March 2025 (11:59 PM) and the last date to apply is 23rd April 2025 (11:59 PM).

π’ Total Number of Posts: 478
These include currently available and anticipated vacancies across various categories, including General, Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, Economically Weaker Sections, Ex-servicemen, Sportspersons, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, and others.
Candidates are advised that the number of vacancies may increase or decrease at the discretion of the Honβble High Court without prior notice.

π Job Location
Candidates selected will be posted in Subordinate Courts across Punjab. They must be willing to serve anywhere within Punjab State as per merit and administrative requirement.

π§βπ Educational Qualification
The applicant must hold a Bachelorβs degree in Arts or Science or equivalent from a recognized university.
They must also have proficiency in computers, particularly in Word Processing and Spreadsheet applications.
Applicants must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects.
Those who havenβt studied Punjabi at matriculation level can apply but must pass an equivalent Punjabi exam during the probation period. Failing to do so will result in cancellation of their appointment.
The eligibility qualification must be met by the last date of application i.e. 23/04/2025.

β³ Age Limit (As on 01.01.2025)
- For General/Unreserved category, the minimum age is 18 years and the maximum is 37 years.
- For SC and BC/OBC candidates of Punjab, the upper age limit is extended to 42 years.
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities can apply up to the age of 47 years.
- For Ex-servicemen of Punjab, the maximum age is calculated as the number of years in military service plus 3 years.
- Candidates already in service in Government/Semi-Government/PSUs are eligible up to 45 years.
Applicants of reserved categories from outside Punjab will be treated as General Category.

π§Ύ Disqualification Criteria
Candidates are disqualified if:
- They have contracted a second marriage while having a living spouse, unless permitted under personal law.
- The Honβble High Court has reason to believe the candidate concealed any material fact or furnished false details.

π° Pay and Allowances
Selected candidates will be entitled to salary, pay scale, and other allowances as applicable under the Punjab Government rules for Subordinate Court employees. These may be revised from time to time.

π΅ Application Fee (Non-Refundable, Payable Online Only)
- SC/BC/OBC/EWS/ESM of Punjab: βΉ525
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities of Punjab: βΉ625
- All Other Categories: βΉ825
Fees include online facilitation charges and examination fees. Candidates selecting βOthersβ in gender must pay according to their actual category.

π Mode of Selection
The selection process consists of:
Computer Based Test (CBT)
- 60 Objective-Type Questions
- Duration: 1 Hour
- Subjects: English Composition & General Knowledge
- No Negative Marking
- Marks of this test are for shortlisting only and not counted in final merit.
Shortlisting
- Candidates equal to three times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted (based on CBT score) for further tests.
English Shorthand and Transcription Test
- Dictation speed: 80 words per minute
- Transcription speed: 20 words per minute on computer
- Candidates making more than 8% mistakes will be disqualified.
Spreadsheet Test (Qualifying only)
- 10 Marks
- Duration: 10 Minutes
- Minimum 40% required (i.e., 4 marks) to qualify
Only those who qualify the Spreadsheet Test will have their shorthand transcripts evaluated.
- Final Merit List
- Prepared based on English Shorthand & Transcription Test only.
- In case of tie, preference will be given to the elder candidate. If age is also same, alphabetical order will decide the rank.

π E-Admit Card and Demo Test
Eligible candidates can download their E-Admit Card from the official website www.sssc.gov.in by logging in with their credentials. Admit cards will not be sent by post.
Candidates must paste a recent attested passport-size photograph on the admit card. A demo/mock test link will be available on the website 15 days before the exam.

π§Ύ Required Documents
Original documents will be checked at later stages. Incomplete applications or wrong information may lead to disqualification or legal consequences.
Applicants must retain copies of their application and photographs used during the application process.

β οΈ Special Instructions
- Candidates must check their email (including spam folder) and the SSSC website regularly for updates.
- Applicants are allowed to submit only one application for each category.
- Candidates must give a declaration agreeing to work anywhere in Punjab.
- No TA/DA will be provided for tests or document verification.
- The High Court reserves the right to cancel or modify the recruitment process at any stage.

- Scanned passport-size photograph (recent, not older than 1 month)
