1. Post Details

2. Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) or equivalent from a recognized university or institution in India.
- Enrollment as an Advocate with the Bar Council of India or any State Bar Council under the provisions of The Advocates Act, 1961.
- Experience: More than 1 year and up to 2 years of relevant legal experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in handling cases related to environment, forests, biodiversity, and wildlife in a Government of India or State Government Department/Board.
- Possession of a Diploma/Certificate of specialization in related subjects from a recognized university/institution.
Preference Given To:
- Candidates with 60% and above marks/CGPA equivalent in LL.B.
- Candidates who completed a full-time LL.B. course.
- Candidates with 60% and above marks/CGPA equivalent in LL.M.

3. Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Assisting in legal matters related to environment, forest, and climate change.
- Handling court cases pending in Supreme Court, High Courts, National Green Tribunal (NGT), and other legal forums.
- Drafting legal documents, affidavits, and appeals.
- Appearing in court proceedings when required.
- Monitoring legal issues and judicial cases.
- Coordinating with state and central government departments.
- Maintaining and updating legal records and databases such as LIMBS (Legal Information Management and Briefing System).
- Assisting in drafting laws, rules, and notifications.
- Liaising with Government Counsels and Legal Experts.

4. Contract Terms & Benefits
Allowances:
- No Dearness Allowance (DA), Residential Accommodation, Medical Reimbursement, or Personal Staff.
- Eligible for Annual Increment (0-10%), subject to performance evaluation.
- Incentive for appearing before National Green Tribunal (NGT): ₹1,500 per appearance (max ₹15,000 per case).
Travel & Daily Allowances:
- Outstation Travel:
- Train: 2nd AC fare.
- Hotel Allowance: ₹2,000 per day (on submission of receipt).
- Food & Stationery Allowance: ₹500 per day.
- Local Travel:
- Actual taxi fare reimbursement.
- Food & Stationery Allowance: ₹200 per day.
Leave Policy:
- 1.5 days leave per completed month (not cumulative beyond the contract period).
- Maternity leave as per the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017.
Work Hours:
- Same as regular government employees.
- No extra pay for overtime; compensatory leave at discretion of Head of Office.
Notice Period:
- 30 days prior notice required for resignation or termination.
Conflict of Interest Clause:
- Must maintain confidentiality under the Indian Official Secrets Act, 1923.
- Required to provide a self-undertaking of no criminal record and two references for integrity verification.
