Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, Chandigarh, invites applications for the following contract-based positions under the ICMR-funded project titled:
“An Intergenerational Community-Based Approach for Digital Health Literacy of Elderly by Adolescents – A Mutual Beneficence Model”
The project is undertaken by Dr. Sonia Puri, Principal Investigator, Department of Community Medicine, GMCH Sector 32, Chandigarh.

1️⃣ Research Assistant
- Number of Posts: 01
- Essential Qualification:
- Graduate in Science from a recognized university with 3 years of experience
OR
- Master of Public Health (MPH)
- Desirable Experience:
- Experience in community-based research projects in Govt./Autonomous Institutions
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical tools
- Experience in data collection, data analysis, and report writing
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Salary: ₹31,000/- per month (Consolidated)
- Age Limit: Up to 35 years
- Nature of Work:
- Assist in conducting, monitoring, and coordinating project activities in the field
- Communicate via emails, letters, and processing bills
- Assist in modifying web-based platforms & computer applications
- Any other duties assigned by the Principal Investigator (PI)

2️⃣ Data Entry Operator (DEO)
- Number of Posts: 01
- Essential Qualification:
- 12th Pass in Science from a recognized board
- Diploma in Computer Applications
- Typing Speed of not less than 30 Words Per Minute (Test will be conducted on the day of the interview)
- Desirable Experience:
- Experience in data processing/management
- Experience working in medical surveys for Govt./Autonomous organizations
- Salary: ₹17,000/- per month (Consolidated)
- Age Limit: Up to 30 years
- Nature of Work:
- Assist in data entry, data management, data analysis, report writing, and fieldwork

- The contract appointment is subject to renewal every quarter, depending on project requirements.
- Candidates currently employed must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their department.
- These positions do not provide Provident Fund (PF), Pension, Gratuity, or Seniority benefits applicable to government employees.
- Selected candidates will be entitled to TA/DA for project-related travel, but not for interviews.
- No private practice is allowed during the contract period.
- If any false information is found in the application, the candidate will be terminated immediately.
- One-month prior notice is required for resignation; otherwise, one month’s salary will be deducted.
- The contract can be terminated without prior notice by the Principal Investigator.
- There is no claim for absorption into another ICMR project after completion of tenure.
- An affidavit must be submitted upon joining, agreeing to all terms and conditions.
