Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, invites applications for temporary faculty positions under the Self-Supporting Programme (SSP) of ME Computer Science (Information Security) at the Cyber Security Research Centre.

- Assistant Professor (SS) – 01 Post
1. Qualifications & Experience
Associate Professor (SS) – Academic Level 13A1
- Entry Pay: ₹1,31,400/-
- Essential Qualifications:
- Ph.D. degree in the relevant field with First Class or equivalent at both Bachelor’s and Master’s levels.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching, research, or industry, with at least 2 years of post-Ph.D. experience.
- At least 6 research publications in SCI journals or UGC/AICTE approved journals.
- Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in teaching, research, or industry in a reputed organization, specifically in Information Security.
- Published work such as research papers, patents, books, or technical reports.
- Experience in guiding PG/Research students or supervising R&D projects.
If no suitable candidate is available for the Associate Professor position, the institute may fill the position at the Assistant Professor level.
Assistant Professor (SS) – Academic Level 10
- Entry Pay: ₹57,700/-
- Essential Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in the relevant discipline with First Class in both Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Engineering & Technology.
- Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in teaching, research, or industry in Information Security.
- Papers presented at conferences or published in refereed journals.
Candidates who have completed their Ph.D. after a Bachelor’s degree from an institute of national importance with GATE/GPAT/CEED qualifications are also eligible.
2. Relevant Disciplines / Specializations
Applicants must have academic qualifications in Computer Science, Electronics, or allied areas at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. levels. Allied areas include IT, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Information Security, Digital Forensics, Computer Networks, Cyber Laws, Malware Analysis, and related fields.
3. Pay, Benefits & Allowances
- Associate Professor (SS) is offered a salary at Academic Level 13A1 with an entry pay of ₹1,31,400/-.
- Assistant Professor (SS) is offered a salary at Academic Level 10 with an entry pay of ₹57,700/-.
- In addition, selected candidates will be entitled to allowances such as dearness allowance (DA), house rent allowance (HRA), and medical allowance, as approved by the Chandigarh Administration and the Board of Governors/Management of the institute.
4. Terms & Conditions
- These positions are temporary and will continue as long as the self-supported ME course remains active.
- The initial appointment will be for three years.
- Selected candidates will receive benefits similar to regular faculty, except for Leave Travel Concession (LTC).
- Employees will be governed by the New Pension Scheme.
- Faculty members will be eligible for reimbursement of expenses for attending national/international conferences and book purchases.
- The selected candidates will be eligible for HRA but will not be entitled to Government accommodation or lease accommodation.
- Existing faculty members of PEC, if selected, will be transferred on a temporary deputation basis.
- Candidates from other organizations, if selected, must commit to at least three years of service at PEC.
- Incomplete applications or applications not in the prescribed format will be rejected.
- Candidates already in service should apply through the proper channel and submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their current employer.
- Appointment is subject to medical fitness.
- The initial appointment includes a probation period of two years for Assistant Professor and one year for Associate Professor, as per CCS rules.
- The Institute reserves the right to amend the number of posts, downgrade posts, or not fill any vacancy without providing a reason.
- No TA/DA will be provided for application submission or the interview.
