Public Notice: Internship Program – “Poshan Saathi” under POSHAN Abhiyaan, UT Chandigarh
Introduction:
Under Mission Saksham Anganwadi & POSHAN 2.0, U.T. Chandigarh operates 450 Anganwadi Centres, covering an approximate population of over 6 lakh. These centres provide vital services including supplementary nutrition, pre-school non-formal education, nutrition and health education, immunization, health check-ups, and referral services to children aged 0-6 years, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.
The POSHAN Abhiyaan aims to reduce malnutrition in a phased manner through a life cycle approach by synergizing efforts and fostering public participation. To support this mission, the Department of Social Welfare, UT Chandigarh invites applications for the “Poshan Saathi” Internship Program.
This internship offers a unique opportunity for young professionals to work at the grassroots level, addressing malnutrition and enhancing community nutritional outcomes.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications:
Applicants must be graduates/postgraduates in Social Work, Nutrition, Public Health, or related disciplines.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Passion for community development and public health.
- Prior experience in data collection, community engagement, or capacity building (preferred but not mandatory).
Other Considerations:
- Interns must arrange their own transportation during field visits.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct field-based data collection and monitor child growth and nutritional indicators.
- Promote healthy food practices and organize community awareness campaigns.
- Support capacity-building and training programs for Anganwadi Workers.
- Assist in analyzing policies and implementing nutrition-related interventions.
- Undertake tasks as assigned by higher authorities to advance the POSHAN Abhiyaan initiatives.
