Notice inviting applications for empanelment of Legal Counsel(s)
NITTTR, Chandigarh invites applications for the Empanelment of Legal Counsel(s) to represent NITTTR, Chandigarh before the Supreme Court of India, High Court of Punjab and Haryana, Subordinate Courts, Commissions, and other judicial/quasi-judicial bodies. Legal Counsel(s) will be utilized for providing legal advice, vetting documents, drafting legal replies, MoUs, agreements, contracts, and other related legal services.
Existing empanelled Legal Counsel(s) must also reapply as per the guidelines.
Guidelines for empanelment of Legal Counsel(s):

2. Mode of Application:
- Eligible applicants must send their applications in the prescribed proforma with relevant documents to board.section@nitttrchd.ac.in.
- Documents should be in a single PDF and clearly legible.
- Applicants may apply for multiple forums (Courts) with separate applications if eligible.
- The subject of the email should be “Application for Empanelment- (court*)”.
- Application forms and relevant documents are available on the NITTTR website.
3. Last Date for Application:
- Deadline: 30th September 2024 by 5 PM.
- Late applications will not be considered.
4. Procedure for Empanelment:
- Applications will be scrutinized based on eligibility and experience by a committee.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview/presentation, and the list will be uploaded on the NITTTR website.
- No TA/DA will be provided for the interview.
- Selection will be based on the committee’s decision, which will be final.
5. Tenure of Empanelment:
- The initial empanelment will be for two years, with the possibility of extension for another year based on performance and requirements.
6. Fee Structure:
- The fee will be governed by the Judicial Section/Department of Legal Affairs/Ministry of Law & Justice or as determined by NITTTR’s Board of Governors (BOG).
7. Duties of the Empanelled Counsel(s):
- The counsel must not represent any party against NITTTR.
- Timely appearance in court is mandatory.
- Counsels are required to submit case status reports after each hearing.
8. Removal from Panel:
- NITTTR reserves the right to remove any counsel from the panel for not meeting expectations, failure to attend hearings, or any misconduct.
9. Right to Private Practice:
- Counsels can continue private practice as long as it does not interfere with their duties for NITTTR.
