VACANCY NOTIFICATION FOR TEMPORARY/PROJECT POSTS
The National Institute of Child Health and Development Research (ICMR-NICHDR) is seeking to engage suitable candidates for the following temporary/project-based positions under the ICMR-funded research project titled “Acceleration of TB Elimination in Selected Districts of India” led by Dr. Garima Jain. The positions are to be filled purely on a temporary basis, initially for one year or until the project is completed based on performance. The positions are based at the State TB Cell, GMSH Sector-16, Chandigarh.
Walk-in-Interview / Written Test / Personal Discussion will be held at State TB Cell, GMSH Sector-16, Chandigarh on 25th September 2024 at 9:30 AM onwards. The details of the positions are as follows:
1. Consultant (Non-Medical)
- No. of Posts: 1
- Place of Posting: State TB Cell, GMSH Sector-16, Chandigarh
- Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 70,000 (Consolidated)
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 70 years
- Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Sociology, Public Health, Community Medicine, Anthropology, or a relevant field. Relevant research experience and published papers are required.
- Desirable: Knowledge of NTEP and TB. Previous experience in conducting surveys and research publications is preferred.
- Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct house-to-house surveys.
- Follow-up on suspected TB patients for sputum and X-ray.
- Maintain and update all data in real-time using Excel.
- Engage with local stakeholders to plan and implement IEC activities.
- Manage the overall project and coordinate with the State TB Officer (STO).
- Must be willing to work 6 days a week and conduct daily field visits.

2. Project Technical Support-II (X-Ray Technician)
- No. of Posts: 1
- Place of Posting: State TB Cell, GMSH Sector-16, Chandigarh
- Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 20,000 + HRA (as admissible)
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 30 years
- Essential Qualification: 12th in Science with a Diploma in Radiology/Radiography or B.Sc. in Radiology. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
- Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct house-to-house X-rays using portable X-ray machines.
- Assist in reporting X-rays and coordinating fieldwork.
- Must be willing to work 6 days a week in the field.

3. Project Technical Support-I (MLT)
- No. of Posts: 2
- Place of Posting: State TB Cell, GMSH Sector-16, Chandigarh
- Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 18,000 + HRA (as admissible)
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 30 years
- Essential Qualification: 10th with a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT/DMLT). A minimum of 2 years of experience in the relevant field is required.
- Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct house-to-house surveys.
- Collect sputum samples and process them for Staining and TRUNAAT analysis.
- Perform duties as assigned by the State TB Officer.
- Must be willing to work 6 days a week in the field.

General Terms and Conditions:
- The positions are temporary and co-terminus with the project.
- Engagement will depend on available funds and approval from the competent authority.
- Experience should be relevant to the field and gained after acquiring the essential qualifications.
- No TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview, and candidates must arrange their own travel.
- These positions do not confer any claim for regular employment with ICMR.
- The maximum duration of engagement in any project human resource position shall be five years.
