The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali (IISER Mohali), an institute of national importance established by the Government of India, Ministry of Education, in 2007, has announced the engagement of apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. This recruitment is aimed at filling various apprenticeship positions with dedicated and eligible citizens of India. Below is the detailed information regarding the recruitment process:

Library Science
- Vacancies: 2 (1 UR, 1 SC)
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Library Science
- Monthly Stipend: ₹14,000/-
Accounts and Audit
- Vacancies: 4 (2 UR, 2 SC)
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce

Administrative Services

General Terms and Conditions
- Citizenship: Candidates must be citizens of India.
- Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18-25 years of age as of the last date of application (September 16, 2024). Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India norms for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwBD categories. Candidates must attach a self-attested copy of the category certificate.
- Educational Criteria: Candidates must have completed their graduation or diploma in the years 2021, 2022, or 2023.
- Tenure: The apprenticeship period is 12 months, commencing from the execution of the contract of apprenticeship.
- Application Process:
- The application form must be downloaded from the Institute’s website (www.iisermohali.ac.in).
- The completed application form must be submitted with self-attested copies of all required certificates (educational, technical/professional qualification, category if applicable, etc.) along with a recent passport-size photograph.
- The application form must be sent to “The Registrar, Despatch Section, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali, Sector-81, Knowledge City, S.A.S. Nagar, P.O. Manauli, Mohali, Punjab – 140306” by September 16, 2024, by 5:00 PM.
- Selection Process: Candidates will be shortlisted based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying degree/diploma. In case of a tie, the candidate with higher marks in the preceding educational qualification will be ranked higher.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. They must bring the following original documents along with self-attested photocopies:
- 10th and 12th passing certificates and marksheets
- Qualifying exam passing certificate and marksheets (Degree/Diploma)
- Caste certificate (if applicable)
- Aadhar Card
- Two copies of the bank passbook (account should be in the name of the apprentice)
- Recent passport-size photographs
- Health Certificate: Engagement of selected apprentices is subject to them being declared medically fit. A medical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner of a Government/Municipal Hospital will be required.
- Apprenticeship Terms: IISER Mohali does not guarantee regular/contractual employment after the completion of the apprenticeship period. The apprentices will be relieved after the successful completion of the training.
- Stipend: The monthly stipend will be provided as per Government guidelines, and apprentices must ensure they have an “Aadhaar Linked Primary Bank Account (DBT enabled)” to receive the stipend.
Important Points
- Incomplete applications or those not meeting eligibility criteria will be rejected.
- Only one application per candidate will be considered.
- No TA/DA will be provided for attending any stage of the recruitment process.
- Candidates must keep their email and mobile number active for all communication.
- The Institute reserves the right to modify the number of vacancies, cancel the recruitment process, or reject any application at any stage.
