Job Advertisement: Filling up Temporary Positions and Preparing a Waitlisted Panel for Future Requirements Against Sponsored R&D Projects

Application Process:
Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for age, educational qualifications, and experience may fill out the online Application Form through the ‘Recruitment’ link on the CSIR-CSIO website www.csio.res.in. Relevant documents (certificates of educational qualifications, experience, DOB, category, etc.) should be uploaded in a single file on the online application portal by the last date. No hard copies of applications should be sent to the Office.
Engagement Type:
Purely on a contract/temporary basis and co-terminus with the completion of the project. The exact date and time for physical/virtual interviews of shortlisted candidates will be communicated through our website or via email.
Selection Process Schedule:
- Last date for receipt of online applications: As per advertisement.
- Tentative date for display of the result of the screening process: 3-5 days after the last date of online applications.
- Tentative date for holding online interviews: 3-5 days after the screening process result.
- Tentative date for declaration of result: 3-5 days after the online interviews.
- Tentative date for issuance of offer of engagement: 3-5 days after the declaration of the result (with a maximum joining period of 15 days).
Available Position Details:
Project Name: Development of Divyanayan V2.0 – A Personal Reading Machine for the Visually Impaired
Position:
- Project Associate-I OR Project Associate-II (Depending upon suitability)
- Stipend/Emoluments:
- Project Associate-I: ₹25,000 + HRA
- Project Associate-II:
- ₹35,000 (for candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests such as CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship or GATE, or through a National level examination conducted by Central Government Departments and Agencies)
- ₹28,000 + HRA (for those not falling under the above criteria)

- Essential Qualification:
- Project Associate-I: B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics/Mechatronics/Electrical/Computer Science/IT Engg. or equivalent.
- Project Associate-II:
- B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics/Mechatronics/Electrical/Computer Science/IT Engg. or equivalent.
- 2 years’ experience in research and development in industrial and academic institutions or science and technology organization and scientific activities and services.
- Desirable Qualification:
- Hands-on experience with Python programming/Linux OS, Machine Learning/Deep Learning/Mobile Application development.
- Upper Age Limit: 35 years (as of the last date of applications).
General Information:
- Total Vacancies (Tentative): 02
- Upper Age Limit: Shall be reckoned as of the last date of receipt of applications.
- Other Benefits: Accommodation (subject to availability), food facility, and other amenities in campus.
- Performance Review: Candidates’ performance will be reviewed at regular intervals (3/6 months), and further extension, if applicable, will be provided based on the project mandate.
- Previous Engagement: Candidates who have served CSIR-CSIO or any other CSIR labs for 5 years or more are not eligible for these engagements.
- Medical Facilities: Provided through CSIR-CSIO Dispensary for self only.
- Reservation: SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates will be given preference over General candidates if all other factors are equal.
- Screening Criteria: If a large number of candidates apply, the Selection/Screening Committee may shortlist candidates based on written exams, percentage of marks, desirable qualifications/experience, or higher qualifications.
- Result Announcement: The list of selected candidates will be displayed on the website, and a waiting panel may also be drawn for future project requirements.
- Joining Time: Selected candidates are expected to join within 15 days from the date of receiving the offer of appointment, after completion of pre-appointment formalities.
- Security Deposit: Selected candidates will have to deposit an amount equivalent to 15 days’ stipend as a refundable Security Deposit at the time of joining.
- Right to Cancel: CSIR-CSIO reserves the right to cancel or withdraw the award at any stage in case of any discrepancy in the candidature.
- No TA: No TA will be paid for attending the interview.
- Contractual Nature: All positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the projects.
