The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), a statutory body under the administrative control of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Govt. of India, is the National Standards Body of India. It is responsible for activities in the field of standardization, product and system certification, hallmarking, laboratory testing, etc., in the country.

Position Details:
- Position: Young Professionals (Management System Certification Department - MSCD)
- Educational Qualification: Regular graduation in any discipline of Science/Engineering/BE/B-Tech from a recognized University. Regular MBA or equivalent in Marketing/Sales, Retail Management, Logistics and Supply Management, and Operations Management from a recognized University.
- Total Posts: 01
- Required Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in marketing or equivalent fields (preferably conversant with Management System Certification).
- Upper Age Limit: 35 years (as on 15/08/2024)
- Remuneration: Rs. 70,000/- per month (fixed for two years)
- Job Location: Northern Regional Office, Chandigarh
Selection Process:
All applications received will be scrutinized and shortlisted based on qualifications, experience, and other details provided in the application form. Shortlisted candidates will be called for practical assessment, written assessment, technical knowledge assessment, interview, etc. BIS reserves the right to reject any or all applications without assigning any reason thereof.
Tenure of Engagement:
The engagement is purely on a contract basis for a period of two years. The engagement will be subject to termination at the end of the contract period.

Candidates are required to apply online through the BIS website only at https://www.services.bis.gov.in/php/BIS_2.0/login. The online portal for submission of applications will be made functional from 30/07/2024, 10:00 AM. The closing date for applying will be 15/08/2024, 05:30 PM. No other means/mode of submission of applications will be accepted under any circumstances. Applications received after the deadline or missed due to any technical glitches shall not be entertained.
Other Important Information:
- Confidentiality of Data and Documents: The intellectual property rights of the data collected and deliverables produced for BIS shall remain with BIS. The data shall not be utilized or published or disclosed or parted with, to a third party, any part of the data or statistical or proceedings or information collected for the purpose of the assignment in BIS. The Young Professional is bound to hand over the entire set of records of assignment to BIS before the expiry of the contract or before the final payment is released. The job of Young Professional attracts the highest standards of confidentiality and it is expected to be maintained in all the actions of the officer, at all levels.
- Conflict of Interest: The Young Professional appointed shall not represent or give opinion or advice to others in any matter which is in conflict with the interest of BIS.
- Medical Fitness and Police Verification: Police verification will be conducted after the engagement of the Young Professionals. The Young Professionals will also submit a medical fitness certificate from an authorized/registered medical practitioner at the time of joining.
